WILL HE BE A BAHA'I WHO DENIES "THE WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ABDU'L BAHA"?

One of the friends Mr. Robert Clifton has left a comment that: “I am a Baha’i. I do not follow the Will and Testament. I do not follow the UHJ. I follow Baha’u’llah. Baha’i is defined as someone who follow Baha’u’llah.”

Further he comments: “I have read the Will and Testament with discernment, ‘open eyes’ and with reference to history, the present and the future. I do not find it relevant to the “Cause of God” as outlined by Baha’u’llah.”

Also he says: “There are now perhaps seven or eight divisions (some call them sects) of Baha’i. I belong to none of those divisions, nor can I be considered a separate division. I am a Baha’i.”

If I am not committing a mistake, Dear Robert, you yourself in your correspondence with Dr. Susan Maneck have proved in four steps that Shoghi Effendi clearly, unequivocally and unambiguously appointed Mason Remey to be the Second Guardian of the Cause of God. Then why do you not believe in the continuity of the Guardianship? When you believe that the Guardian is the permanent head of the UHJ, then why do you deny the essentiality of the Institution of the UHJ, as delineated in the Will and Testament of ‘Abdu’l-Baha? We Orthodox Baha’is also reject the current illegtimate sans-Guardian UHJ but believe in the UHJ with the Guardian presiding as its “sacred head” which we hope will soon will be established.

Any way, I am not going into details about it but simply I would like to draw your attention that a person, claiming to be a Baha’i, who does not believe in the writings of Abdu’l Baha he is not believing in Baha’u’llah. You have misunderstood the Station of Abdu’l Baha. I request that you read the books of Baha’u’llah like “Kitab-i-Ahd” (Book of His Covenant), Suriy-i-Ghusn (Tablet of the Branch) and those excerpts from the Kitab-i-Aqdas, His most Holy Book, in which He has disclosed and extolled the Station of Abdu’l Baha –the ”Center of the Covenant.”

In the Kitab-i-Aqdas Baha’u’lah proclaims:

“When the ocean of My presence hath ebbed and the Book of My Revelation is ended, turn your faces toward Him (Abdu’l Baha) Whom God hath purposed, Who hath branched from this Ancient Root.”

In the Suriy-i-Ghusn (Tablet of the Branch) He wrote about ‘Abdu’l-Baha:

“Render thanks unto God, O people for His appearance; for verily He is the most great Favor unto you, the most perfect bounty upon you and through Him every mouldering bone is quickened. Whoso turneth towards Him hath turned towards God, and whoso turneth away from Him hath turned away from my Beauty, hath repudiated My Proof and transgressed against Me.”
In the light of the above words of Baha’u’llah.. how can one dare say I am a Baha’i but do not follow the Will and Testament of Abdul Baha? And how can he then still dare to say that he is someone who follows Baha’u’llah?

Surely he is not a Baha’i.

WORDS OF SHOGHI EFFENDI CONCERNING STATION OF ‘ABDU’L-BAHA’

In his immortal work titled: “The Dispensation of Baha’u’llah,” he stated:

“He is, and should for all the time be regarded, first and foremost as the Centre and Pivot of Baha’u’llah’s peerless and all enfolding Covenant, His most exalted handiwork, the stainless Mirror of His Light, the perfect Exemplar of His teachings, the unerring, interpreter of His Word…”

SHOGHI EFFENDI ATTESTS TO THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ‘ABDU’L-BAHA:

“…an Instrument which may be viewed as the Charter of the New World Order which is at once glory and the promise of this most great Dispensation. The Will may thus be acclaimed as the inevitable offspring resulting from that mystic intercourse between Him who communicated the generating influence of His divine Purpose (Baha’u’llah) and the One Who was its vehicle and chosen recipient of both the Originator and Interpreter of the Law of God – the Will and Testament of Abdu’l-Baha can no more be divorced from Him who supplied the original and motivating impulse than from the One Who ultimately conceived.”

“The Administrative Order which this historic Document [The Will and Testament] has established, it should be noted, is by virtue of its origin and character, unique in the annals of the world’s religious systems.”

CARE:

A clear instruction shows that ‘Abdu’l-Baha should for all the time be regarded. Then who is a Baha’i? One who regards Him or the one who rejects Him by rejecting His Will?

All the Baha’is are enjoined to pay attention to this very important matter.

Dr. A Parikh,
Secretary, PNBC of India.

How Shoghi Effendi was betrayed?

Only the Guardian permanently presides as the “sacred head” of the Universal House of Justice under the terms of the Will and Testament of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, why had Shoghi Effendi not assumed the Presidency himself of its embryonic entity—the International Bahá’í Council—but, in appointing its membership and designating its officers, had appointed as its President, Hand of the Cause, Mason Remey, who, if the Council were to immediately become an actively functioning administrative body, he would then have to either depose Mason Remey and assume the Presidency himself or otherwise have to abdicate the Guardianship. Shoghi Effendi had therefore, of necessity, retained the International Council, as an inactively functioning body during the remaining years of his ministry, as confirmed by Mason Remey, who has stated that Shoghi Effendi never instructed him to activate the Council. For this same reason, Shoghi Effendi had appointed Rúhiyyíh Khánum, in his message of 8 March 1952, as the “chosen liaison” between himself and the Council, which would preclude any semblance of assuming direction of the Council himself. In this way Shoghi Effendi carefully retained the Council as an inactive body during the remaining years of his ministry, and only assigned tasks, from time to time, to individual members. As further evidence of its inactive status, is the fact that the members whom he had appointed as Secretary-General, Hand of the Cause, Leroy Ioas, and his two Assistant Secretaries, for the East and West respectively (Lotfullah Hakim and Ethel Revell), never wrote a single letter in these secretarial capacities, at the direction of Mason Remey, as President of the Council, during the ministry of Shoghi Effendi.>>>>detail

Shun the differences!

Whatsoever hath led the children of men to shun one another, and hath caused dissensions and divisions amongst them, hath, through the revelation of these words, been nullified and abolished."

~Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 95

Leave your fears behind. Here it's safe for Baha'is and seekers of Light to open their hearts and minds and speak freely about the Guardianship of the Baha'i Faith as it relates to the Covenant, and to discuss other spiritual matters. Allow yourself to be attracted to a higher truth no mattter where it takes you!

Baha'is have endured tremendous sacrifices since the birth of our Faith. Sixty years of the practice of shunning, causing us to fear being labeled a "violator of the Covenant" for simply exercising our right to unfettered search for truth, has divided us, misdirected us, weakened us, and dehumanized us until we're no longer effective Ambassadors of Baha'u'llah's Kingdom!!! Baha'u'llah's Mission is to help our world find unity, yet we're now divided into various Baha'i groups over issues relating to succession of authority, in particular the Guardianship.

Baha'u'llah's central spiritual message is that all humanity descends from the same Light. So why not try to go beyond what we're "sure" is certainty, and join others who, through Holy Spirit's assistance, are moving beyond division?

Let us shun our divisions. Let us stop labeling each other covenant-breakers. Let us stop slandering each other and UNITE under Guardian and consolidate the Mission of Baha’u’llah.

GREETINGS TO ALL THE BELIEVERS ON THE BIRTH ANNIVERSAY OF BAHA'U'LLAH

The Blessed Beauty was born in Tehran on 12th November, 1817 in the family of a Persian Vazir (Minister). Baha’is worship the Ancient Beauty as the Manifestation of God on the earth, the Prophet of the Baha’i Religion and the Promised One of all ages. His intimate proclamation took place at the “Black Pit” of Tehran in 1853 when He was 36. He proclaimed His mission to the world by sending out tablets from Adrianople to the Rulers of States, Kings, Emperors, Presidents and Religious Leaders during the year 1867 to 1873. The duration of His Prophethood was 39 years. Over a hundred volumes were revealed from his Pen, among which we can name the Kitab-i-Aqdas (The Most Holy Book), The Hidden Words, Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, Tablets to the Leaders of the World, Kitab-i-Iqan (The Book of Certitude), The Seven Valleys and the Four Valleys, many tablets to various believers and many prayers.

The Glory of God, Baha’u’llah revealed in Kita-b-i-Aqdas:

"Immerse yourselves in the ocean of My words, that ye may unravel its secrets, and discover all the pearls of wisdom that lie hid in its depths. Take heed that ye do not vacillate in your determination to embrace the truth of this Cause. A Cause through which the potentialities of the might of God have been revealed and His sovereignty established. With faces beaming with joy, hasten you unto Him. This is the changeless Faith of God, eternal in the past, eternal in the future. Let hath refused to seek it verily; God is Self Sufficient, above need of His creatures."

(Kitab-i-Aqdas, quoted in A Synopsis and Codification of the Laws and Ordinances of the Kitab-i-Aqdas, pp 27-28)

AN APPEAL FROM THE ORTHODOX BAHA'IS OF INDIA TO ALL THE LOVERS OF JUSTICE

In India there are a number of Christians, Hindus and the Muslims religious denominations, all calling them Christians, Hindus and Muslims. But this is unprecedented in the history of the Faiths that a Bahai denomination has taken the help of Court to silence the other Bahai denominations.....>>>>for detail click

WHY THE SANS GUARDIAN BAHA’IS DO NOT READ THE WILL AND TESTAMENT WITH OPEN EYES?

A comment made in the article of a post by one Mr. Mac that, Why the Sans Guardian Bahai's do not read The WILL and TESTAMENT with open eyes?

We reply: They read it with open eyes but their hearts are sealed therefore the guidance can not enter in their hearts.
The other reasons are as under:

Some of the Hands of Cause have distorted and illegally interpreted the Holy Writings. The First Guardian of the Faith himself noticed such distortions. He states in his detailed letter dated 27th February 1929 to the “Members of NSA of the Baha’is of USA and Canada."

“…every fair minded inquirer will readily admit that they (Will and Testament & Kitab-i-Aqdas) are not only complementary but that they mutually confirm one another and are inseparable parts of one complete unit. A comparison of their contents with the rest of Baha’i sacred writings will similarly establish the conformity of the authenticated writings and sayings of Baha’u’llah and Abdu’l-Baha.

…Infact he who reads the Aqdas with care and diligence will not find it hard to discover that the Most Holy Book it self anticipates in number of passages the institutions with Abdu’l-Baha ordains in His Will.

…I truly deplore the unfortunate distortions that have resulted in days past from the incapacity of the interpreter to grasp the meaning of Abdu’l-Baha and from his incompetence to render adequately such truths as have been revealed to him by the Master’s statements.

…Much of the confusion that has obscured the understanding of the believers should be attributed to this double error involved in the inexact rendering of an only partially understood statement.

…It must be also clearly understood by every believer that the institution of Guardianship does not under any circumstances abrogate or even in the slightest degree detract from the powers granted to the Universal House of Justice by Baha solemnly confirmed by Abdu’l-Baha in His Will.

…It does not constitute in any manner a contradiction to the Will and Writings of Baha’u’llah, nor does it nullify any of His revealed instructions”.

Guardian Is The Soul And UHJ Is The Body

By this body[the Universal House of Justice] all things must be referred. It enacted all ordinances and regulations that are not to be found in the explicit Holy Text. By this body all the difficult problems are to be resolved and the Guardian of the Cause of God is its sacred head and the distinguished member for life of that body.

Continuity of Guardianship in Baha'i Faith

Master Abdu'l-Baha states:
"...O ye beloved of the Lord! It is incumbent upon the guardian of the Cause of God to appoint in his own life-time him that shall become his successor, that differences may not arise after his passing... (a part of Will & Testament of Abdu'l Baha)

Who created sects in Baha'i Faith?

Some of the friends enquire as to why the Divine Cause (Bahá'í Faith) has become divided into different sects? What are the factors behind it? Who is responsible for this division?
